A phablet is an informal class of smartphone defined by the following characteristics:
- screen size ranges between 5 and 7 inches
- primarily designed to combine the functionality of a smartphone with that of a tablet.
A phablet is more convenient for users to carry as it is smaller in size and thinner than most miniature and full-sized tablets.
Phablets are typically optimized for:
- mobile web access
- multimedia activities
Some phablets come with a stylus, to enhance such features as sketching, note-taking and annotation.
